hard drive error 1779

Hello,

i cannot boot into logical drive due to earlier hard drive failure.

i have a RAID 0 of 4 physical hard disks, one of my hard disks has failed ( server froze but one of the hard disk led was amber ), i restarted the server and when it back up the disk status was ok , but logical disk is reporting this error

i did test the physical drive that was failed previously and it was ok

the only option i have now is to re-enable failed logical drive, but there might be data loss ( these hard disks was hosting an OS )

does anyone have any idea what to do? and if there is no other options but to repaird ( re-enable failed logical hard drive) will there still be a data loss even though the hard disk report its ok now?

DL 380e Gen8 System Power Fault

Hi,

Last night my server stopped, when i went to investigate, i had a beeping red light on it. Tried turning it on, didint work, and in iLo i get this error:

System Power Fault Detected (XR: 10 00 MID: FF 3D BC 29 F9 F0 00 0E 0E 00 40 3F 05 00 00 00 96 00 F0 0F F0 43 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Since the error i can't turn the server back on.

I  tried removing raiser card, memory, PSU, raid controller, changing system battery.

Tried to delete error code in iLo but still doesn't want to turn on. Tied booting to backup ROM, didnt work, cleared NVRAM, but still nothing.

Any help in decoding the error code?

Installed Agentless Management Bundle for ESXi 7.0, but iLO doesn't see AMS.

Hi there, I recently bought a DL380p Gen8 from ebay to run a few small vm's in my office (I know it's old, but still overkill for my needs).  I'm new to the Proliant line so I don't know all the different management software. I've installed ESXi 7.0 and wanted to monitor the raid1 drives. I didn't find any software that works on one of the windows VM's so I searched and came across Agentless Management Service that can be monitored through the iLO. 

I installed: "HPE Agentless Management Bundle for ESXi 7.0" and "HPE Agentless Management Bundle Smart Component for ESXi 7.0" and rebooted, yet iLO still says AMS is not running. 

The components look like they installed, but I don't see any AMS service that should be running.  I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

ML350 Gen10 Raid Controller (S100i) - not detecting drives

Hi All

 

I have purchased a ML350 Gen10 server and two SAS drives for configuration in a Raid1 array.

No matter what I do - I cannot see the drives in the bios / controller.  "There is no configurable physical drives attached to the current raid controller)

Am i missing a battery / cable or using drives that are not compatible (drives I'm using are HP PN:  872493-002)

RAID 6 configuration and subsequent addition of disks

Hi, good afternoon.

I'm going to create a new 4×4 TB RAID 6 on a P440 4GB controller, and after a while I have to add more 4 TB disks up to a total of eight disks.

When I create the RAID I get the screen to choose the band size/duplication size, but I don't know which one I should choose, as the data to be stored is quite small (between 2MB and 3MB the file size).

I would like the reading performance to be higher for a database, and also to minimize the latency.

Should I choose the default configuration, or should I choose a smaller size? As for the file system, I'm going to incorporate NTFS, and I don't know what format I should incorporate either.

Could you possibly decode this?

HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 - Replacing Smart Array P440ar

Dear Community,

I´m in trouble with a Smart Array P440AR Controller embedded in a DL380 Gen9 machine due to a reported cache memory failure (Error 1797: Write Back Cache Backup Previously Failed. Caching is permanently disabled. Action: Replace the Cache Module).

At first, I´ve upgraded the firmware to the latest version (V7.00) and renewed the battery. Then tried to recover the cache module via Smart Storage Administrator. The function ends up with "Recover failed due to an unknown error".

The server runs fine so far, but with cache disabled.

Because the cache module seems to be soldered on the controller board, I´ve obtained a new replacement P440AR controller, which has Firmware V4.52 programmed by factory.

Could you please help me and give hints on how to >safely< replace the board:

- Can I connect the Disk-Set without risk for data to new 4.52 controller, altough it has been in access by the old (fw 7.00) controller before?

- Or is the a procedure to upgrade the new controller to fw 7.00 without having the Raid-Set connected (Set is Server´s Boot-Device), and connect the Disks for the first time afterwards? Thought about that it might be possible to use a bootable Windows-on-DVD distribution via S-ATA DVD-drive while the Raid-Set remains disconnected, just to execute the fw upgrade installer package.

Problem with nvidia tesla p100 12Gb graphics card

Good day to all.
There is a problem with a video card installed in the server.
Esxi 6.7 is installed on the server, a virtual machine is installed in it where this video card is mounted. When installing the driver in the logs of the virtual machine, I see this error:

HPE MICROSERVER GEN10 PLUS with S100i SR RAID and VMWARE

Hi

I have a Microserver XEON gen10 PLUS, with S100i SR configured in RAID1. But can't install vmware in this raid.

In HCL I see that this Xeon version is compatible with vmware 6.5U3, 6.7U3 and 7.0. But I can't install this.

Only works without RAID option or I do something wrong? (I use the F10 to install the vmware)

Buffer failure during boot. Proliant G9/VMware 6.7

Good morning everyone.  We had an incident over the weekend. Some type of glitch in the building power. Most of the UPS's were fine, one of them wasn't (It's dead).  One of our DL360 G9 servers was connected to it and is no longer functional. VMware shifted everything to the other servers, so we're OK, but this server is getting a buffer failure when I try to boot it.  I've powered down and disconnected everything, pulled the internal SD boot card and reconnected all.  I am still getting this failure:

Error 6 (Buffer too small) while decompressing data

Internal diagnostics say everything is fine, and it's obviously seeing the card. I'm ASSUMING the VMware files got corrupted, but before I pull the files from the card and get hold of VMware, does anyone have any suggestions? BTW, this is a standard HP 8GB SD card and, as far as I know, VMware 6.7 sends all of it's log files to the local SCSI drive that is now mandatory.

Xenon e3-1270 v6 on HPE ProLiant ML10 Gen9

Hello to all, probably some one has same problem...

I have HPE ProLiant ML10 Gen9 - it was running on Intel Pentium G4400, but time to updte and i have tested xenon e3-1270 v6, PC starts but ventilators running on full speed without progress on display (like Bios start), than i have update BIOS to "American Megatrends" v 1.13 12/05/2019 but still the same, readed planty info but can not find nothing. Pls help!?

HDD showing wrong transfer speeds

HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 Performance - Server - tower - 4U

b120i RAID adapter

I have 4 6gbs HDD in a RAID 10.

the b120i interface says 2 of the HDD only have 3gbs transfer rate.

I confirmed the displayed model of the 3gbs displayed HDD and it is supposed to be 6gbs.

I have a ProLiant ML10 Gen9 and i want to create a bootable USB using rufus but unable to complete the process. It says processing failed. What am i doing wrong. Anyone has any guide or step  by instructions on how to create bootable using Rufus. please help

- Downgrade & Rewrite  Firmware & Software 

What is the difference between downgrade and rewrite?

What is meant by software here?

ML350 loses raid driver

Hello everyone,

one of my customers have a ML350 GEN9 E5-2609V4 server with two hard disk in raid 1 and Windows 2012 Server R2 standard as a driver. Sometimes, in a very random way actually, on shutdown the server loses the raid driver and so Windows Server can't start properly. As a workaround I found that when it reboots and shows Windows Server repair utility, I can go for the command prompt and reload manually the raid driver (hpsa3.inf) with drvload.

Any suggestion how can I fix this problem in a definitive way?
